TO THINK OR NOT TO THINK

Last week's episode, involving the psychic,
shows how complex the Sam character is.
  No, really.

It's true that he seemed to have nothing but
disdain for the gentleman's abilities.  But this
is the same Sam who was always advising his
rookie Andy to listen to that little voice inside
of you.  The argument being that police work
can be so quick sometimes, that to think for a
second too long can shorten your career...

  1. Poor Sam, he seemed intimidated with the psychic. As a police officer, I don't think they want someone to have "an edge" over them in any capacity.

Besides...maybe Sam was afraid that the psychic would know his deepest thoughts and feelings...

No one likes to be read like a book. I think we all want to protect our innermost thoughts.

So kinda...he doesn't believe...and then maybe he just might...

Thanks, Dan, for your thoughts on this episode. :)

  2. Interesting points, Giulia - I hadn't considered those...

I had thought, just last night, that, sometimes, even when police follow their gut - they turn out to be wrong! The San Diego protests that turned violent, were based on a police shooting of what turned out to be an unarmed suspect.

  3. Hi Paul{Daniel}....!!
I think....only certain people are born with a natural ability to not think...."First"... ......but to react..."First"......that perhaps.....they are born with a 'natural'.......'rhythm'......for high stress situations.....!!.....but who can second guess......after the fact.....Really nobody should...because there are millions of ways a situation can end.........
Its the ones who are NOT afraid......and don't question their intuition...........♠........
    Interesting.....Paul{Daniel}.........!!!
    Do take Care!!!!!!!
